Text messages to drivers
Last updated: September 17, 2026
LobbyHost is check-in software used by warehouses and distribution sites. When a truck driver arrives, he checks in — on a tablet at the door, or on his own phone after scanning the site's printed QR poster. This page explains the text messages a site can send him, and how he agrees to them.
How a driver opts in
At check-in the driver types his own mobile number. Underneath it is a box he can tick. It is not ticked for him, checking in does not depend on it, and a driver who leaves it alone is never texted. This is the screen, photographed on a live site:

The box says, word for word:
Text me about this visit while I'm here. Only about this visit — for example which dock to use, or that your paperwork is ready. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to stop, HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. See our Privacy Policy.
Numbers are collected one at a time, in person, from the driver they belong to. There are no purchased lists, no uploaded lists, and no way for one site to text another site's drivers. A site that has not turned texting on does not show the box at all — its kiosk tells drivers it will not text them.
What is sent
Short operational messages about the visit in progress, sent by the staff at that site: which dock to back into, that paperwork is ready, that the driver is released. The driver can reply, and staff answer from their dashboard. Typical examples:
Growers First Livonia: Go to dock 75. Reply STOP to stop messages, HELP for help.
Growers First Livonia: Your paperwork is ready at the shipping office. Reply STOP to stop messages, HELP for help.
Message frequency varies — a few messages during one visit, and none between visits. Nothing promotional is ever sent: no marketing, no offers, no newsletters.
How to stop
Replying STOP ends messages to that number for good, and HELP replies with what the messages are and who to ask. A driver can also simply not tick the box next time.
What the number is used for
That site's messages about that visit, and the evacuation roll call — so the site can account for everyone in the building in an emergency. Nothing else. A driver's number is never sold, never used for marketing, and never shared with another customer or with an advertiser.
